These photos were taken by famous photojournalist, Esther Bubley during the 40's-60's. Bubley was one of the first women to successfully support herself working as a freelance photographer because during her time few publications offered women staff positions.
Through her photography she told stories dealing with medicine and health, wars, magazine stories and government.
I love the lighting and high contrast in these photos.
